By this we know love…

1 John 3:16

Jesus laid down His life for us; He sacrificed it all so that we could have life eternal. We know love by laying down our lives for others. Not only do we know what Jesus did for us but as we follow Him we experience His love, therefore it flows out from us and we in turn can reach out to others practically and regularly.

As we pray and seek direction, the Lord will lead us to those who have needs. In the process we will be given opportunity to share the resources we have and the gospel message. Jesus went about preaching, teaching and healing; doing the work of the father. It was His sacrifice that demonstrated love to us.

We know love because He laid down His life, consequently we are to lay our lives down for the brethren, which means to be inconvenienced on behalf of the Kingdom of God.
