Free from the law of sin and death.

As we attempt to live our lives for Jesus there are times we fall into the trap of living under the law. When we find ourselves in this place we become frustrated, confused and worn out. The reason is we are trying to live the Christian life in our own strength and not in the strength of the Lord.

This passage in Romans gives us a promise that leads to freedom. When we take the promise to heart we can relax and enjoy serving the Lord.

I am reminded of a song that we used to sing when I first became a Christian that goes like this, "I am so glad that Jesus set me free signing glory, hallelujah, Jesus set me free!" Paul also said in Romans 6:20- "but now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life."

So today let us remember we are made free and we are no longer under the law but under grace, what a relief!
